If you or your chametz will be in a time zone EAST of NY/EDT, please do not use this form. The sale of chametz for those who will bring in Pesach has already been completed.
Before Pesach it is a requirement to eliminate all Chametz from our possession. Halacha does allow for Chametz (e.g. liquors, mixtures, etc.) to be sold to a non-Jew when elimination is not an easy option. Arrangements for such sale can be made through our rabbinic staff using the contract below.
Your submission must be made by Sunday, April 21st, 2024 @ 5:00pm. If you, or your Chametz will be in a timezone east of New York City, please make sure to fill out this form by Thursday, April 18th.
If it is easier you can print a paper form and scan it/email it to office@thebayit.org. (click here to download) or fax it to 718-884-3206. Forms should be mailed no later than April 15th to ensure that we receive it before Pesach.
This year, Pesach 5784/2024, the general sale of Chametz will take place by Monday, April 22nd at 10:00am.
We never accept personal monetary gifts for this service. We welcome Ma’ot Chittim contributions. All funds go to Pesach needs and support needy people in our local community. You may donate online with a credit card, debit card, or via ACH when you sell your Chametz or by clicking here.
NOTE: Kitniyot (food made from legumes which are not eaten by Ashkenazim on Pesach) need not be sold. Chametz utensils should not be sold so as not to require a new Tevilah.
